Important that all concerned understand that holder will be
subject to immigration rules.

Ex-servicemen: May be possible to solve this problem.
Only a
minority eligible to apply for British citizenship under Section 4(5) of BNA 1981. Only way to deal with others would
be by an immigration route. May be possible to say that they
will be able to come to the UK and settle here for 5 years
and then apply for British citizenship.
