Dear

PAS(C)
for aply
On behalf of the Wong Tai Sin District/Board I am writing to you to express our support for the position taken by the Unofficial Members of the Legislative Council on three issues concerning the Draft Hong Kong (British Nationality) Order 1986. We agree with the Unofficial Members that the British Government should: -
(a) allow British nationals holding
British National (Overseas) pass- ports to visit Britain freely and to make this right clear in the passports;
(b) make full British Citizens those
British nationals who are of non- Chinese descent; and
(c) make full British Citizens those
few remaining British nationals in Hong Kong who fought for the defence of British territory.
I also take this opportunity to forward to you views expressed by Members of the Wong Tai Sin District Board on the matter of the draft Hong Kong (British Nationality) Order 1986 at the Board's 5th meeting. These are contained in the enclosed extracts of the minutes.
I should be grateful if the position of the Wong Tai Sin District Board could be reflected to the British Government.
Hiiff
c.c. The Hon. Lydia Dunn
Yours
sincerely, Michael Theng.
