broadcast twice, once for "morning" and once
for afternoon" school children in any
24 hour period.
(n) apart from the repeats referred to
in (m) above, children's programmes
should not be repeated more frequently
than twice within two years without
the prior permission of the Broadcasting
Authority. We recommend that such
permission should not be granted lightly
(0) the licensees should be required
to obtain the specific approval
of the Broadcasting Authority
for all material shown within the
children's programmes blocs.
(p) under the Broadcasting Authority
there should be a functional
sub-committee dealing exclusively with
children's programmes to ensure the
improvement and maintenance of the
standard of children's programmes
and that one of its first tasks
should be to draw up a code of practice
for children's programmes.
