The Board recommends that:

Annex A

Advertising Limits and Programme Breaks: Television

(a) the maximum permitted amount of

non-programme material shall be

10 minutes of advertisements,

one minute of unpaid APIs and two

minutes of station/programme

promotions within a clock hour,

subject to an overall daily

advertising limit of 12%

of the time during which

broadcasting takes place in-.

the 24-hour period commencing at

6 o'clock in the morning.

(b) the phrase 'any hour' in the

existing legislation should be

amended to make it clear that

what is meant is 'any clock hour'.

(c)

distinction must be drawn between

breaks within programmes and

intervals between programmes.
