promotion to triad office-bearer rank and involvement in prostitution, gambling, drug distribution, loan-sharking and criminal monopolies;

formation of 'front' businesses to hide involvement in organised crime and going, in part, legitimate by investing illegal income in a wide variety of business concerns;

reaping large profits, evading tax, and making efforts to appear completly respectable.
