The visit

Four senior officials of the Civil Servants left Hong Kong today for Beijing. is at the invitation of the All China Federation of Trade Unions. During the four day visit they will hold talks with officials of the Hong Kong and Macau Office on matters of concern to expatriates in Hong Kong in genera), and civil servants in particular.

The delegation is expected to meet Mr Ji Peng Fei and Mr Lu Ping before returning on Friday afternoon.

The four are the President, Mr John Walton Masters, the Vice President Mr Mike Rowse, the Immediate Past President Mr John Lambourn who is also a member of the Basic Law Consultative Committee, and the Chairman of the Agreement Service Committee Mr Arthur Watson.

He is a retired 'worker' on a 100% pension who is called in to do work for the ACFTU. With him was Mr CIU Au-yeung an ex-teacher of English who was to act as our interpreter during the visit.
