To monitor implementation of the Home Purchase Scheme and the Housing Loan Scheme.

Home Purchase Scheme
As at 24.9.86, approval in principle has been given to 2,000 officers under the 1985/86 scheme. So far, 1,890 have submitted formal applications, of which 1,867 have been approved, making a total 10,338 participants since the inception of the scheme in 1981.
A call circular inviting applications for 2,050 new places in early 1987, was issued on 11 August. Over 11,000 applications have been received and are being processed.
Housing Loan Scheme
As at 24.9.86, 11 housing loans have been effected under the 1986/87 scheme, making a total of 336 since the inception of the scheme in 1981.
Administrative
Officers' Recruitment (Ad 1/87-C)
To recruit the number of
Administrative Officers necessary to meet present and future manpower needs.
Recruitment exercise for 1987 has just started. Vacancies for Administrative Officers have been advertised in September 1986 through in- service circulars, major local newspapers and Hong Kong News Digest in London. Qualified candidates will be invited to sit a written examination in November 1986.
