Object
To assist the Standing Commission in conducting a pay level survey to compare salaries and fringe benefits in the civil service with the private sector at the non-directorate level.
Latest Position
Hay Management Consultants expect to complete the collection of data in a fortnight. Νο obstacles have been encountered. Analysis and evaluation of the data will commence thereafter. The preliminary results of the survey and a draft report are likely to be put to the Pay Level Survey Advisory Committee around 20 November.
Pay Level Survey for Directorate Officers

To conduct a pay level survey to compare salaries and fringe benefits in the civil service with the private sector at the directorate level.
Hay Management Consultants have almost completed the collection of data. Analysis and evaluation of the data will commence shortly. The preliminary results and a draft report are likely to become available around 20 November. The Ross Committee has been kept informed of progress.
Cooperative and Government Built Housing Schemes for Civil Servants
(SH 5/6-C)
To implement arrangements for transferring the legal title from civil servants' cooperative building societies or Government built housing schemes to individual members, and for subsequent sale and other disposal.
A draft Order by the Governor, under Section 54 of the Cooperative Societies Ordinance, is being prepared. It is expected that the new arrangements can be implemented towards the end of October.
