SMALL CLAIMS TRIBUNAL (AMENDMENT)
Section 12(2) of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after "signed by" the following--

"or on behalf of”.
Section 14(1)(a) of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting ". unless the parties otherwise agree, be not earlier than 10 days nor later than 60 days" and substituting the following-
"not be later than 60 days".
8. Section 23 of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by the following--

"Evidence.
Amendment of section 32.
Amendment of section 33.

23. (1) The tribunal may at any time during the hearing of a claim allow a witness or a party to give evidence on oath or unsworn.
(2) The rules of evidence shall not apply to proceedings in the tribunal, which may receive any evidence which it considers relevant.".
Section 32 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "in the same manner as a judgment of the District Court" and substituting the following—
"in the District Court in the same manner as a judgment of that court".
10. Section 33 of the principal Ordinance is amended—–
(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "at such rate as may be prescribed" and
substituting the following-
"at the rate specified in subsection (4)”; and
(b) by inserting after subsection (2) the following—
(Cap. 336.)
Amendment of Schedule.
"(3) An award shall carry interest at the rate specified in subsec- tion (4) on the aggregate amount thereof, or on such part thereof as for the time being remains unsatisfied, from the date of the award until satisfaction.
(4) The rate of interest specified for the purposes of subsec- tions (1) and (3) shall be the rate fixed by the Chief Justice by notice in the Gazette under section 50 of the District Court Ordinance.".
11. The Schedule to the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in paragraph 1 by deleting “$5,000" and substituting the following—
"$8,000"; and
(b) in paragraph 2 by deleting "$5,000" and substituting the following—

(b) in Form 8-
(i) by deleting "High Court" in the first and the third places where it occurs and substituting the following-
"Court of Appeal"; and
(ii) by deleting “ARAME" in the first and the third places where it occurs and substituting the following-
“上訴法庭”

12. (1) Rule 11 of the Small Claims Tribunal (General) Rules is revoked.
(2) The Schedule to the Small Claims Tribunal (Forms) Rules is amended- (a) in Form 7——
(i) by deleting "High Court" in the first two places where it occurs and substituting the following-
"Court of Appeal"; and
(ii) by deleting "ME" in the first two places where it occurs and substituting the following-
“上訴法庭”; and
