Dear Mr Pattie,
1
I.F.A.D.
We understand that
the International Fund for
to Sub-Sahara Africa,
the UK have not yet agreed to contribute to
the Agricultural Development, with special regards
Please will you URGE the Foreign Secretary
Sir Geoffrey Howe to direct far more of Britain's Aid to Africa and ensure that we join I.F.A.D's special Fund for Sub-Sahara Africa.
2.
We would also request that you Urge the Chancellor of the Exchequer
Mr Nigel Lawson, to put forward a proposal that the I.M.F. loans to the
poorest Sub-Sahara African Countries are at Subsidised interest rates, with
more time to be taken in the repaying of these loans.
3.
Boat People in Hong Kong.
How much longer is the British Government going to keep some 12,000 ex Vietnam Boat People shut up in cages in Hong Kong ?. Surely we
could bring some presure to bear on New Zealand and Australia, who have
the lowest population figures per square mile in the World, to take more of these unfortunate people.
