Government has decided
to take a further number of
refugees for permanent resettlement.
We have also been
urging friends and allies to join us by intensifying
their own resettlement efforts.
Our campaign has so far
produced offers totalling some 1100 places which would
not otherwise have been forthcoming. We shall continue
to press for more resettlement places for Hong Kong, and
like you shall watch closely the response of the
international community to Hong Kong's needs.
