intake of Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong. I was very
pleased to learn that Canada has increased its already
substantial
of quota
Government-sponsored refugees
for
We and the this year by 450 places, to a total of 1100.
Hong Kong Government contue to be most grateful for
Canada's major rôle in providing resettlement assistance
for refugees in Hong Kong. We very much hope that you
will be able to maintain this impressively high intake in
future years.
As you will know, we have a new programme of our own
underway to resettle Vietnamese refugees from Hong Kong
