NB Approximately 50% of Refugee Action cases need to use the Reception Centre - this amounts to more than 50% of the refugees on Refugee Action's list as a 'case' can vary from consisting of a single person, to an extended family of 20 made up of several family units. When the family reunion is an extended family, it is necessary to work out with the applicant how the family divides up for housing purposes.

Where an applicant lives in an isolated area and feels that this is not suitable for the family reunion, possible alternative

resettlement areas must be discussed - bearing in mind the difficulty in applying for housing in an area where the new arrival has no local connection.
