the courts are given guidance by the Ordinance as to the exercise of the power to make exclusion and occupation orders;
a time limit is introduced by the Ordinance for exclusion and occupation orders and for a power of arrest, giving statutory effect to matters covered by the Practice Direction at
19817 1 ALL E.R. 224; and
the period for which a person may be held in custody between an arrest and appearance before a Judge is longer under the Ordinance, but is consistent with the period a person can be held after being arrested under the Debtors (Arrest and Imprisonment) Ordinance 1984 (No. 1 of 1984).
Before the Acting Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
