UK DENUNCIATION OF IL CONVENTIONS: EFFECT ON NON-METROPOLITAN
TERRITORIES
1. We have been asked by the International Labour Organisation whether our Dependent Territories are considered self-governing with regard to ILO Conventions 26, 88, 94 and 95; copies of texts are: attached. Mr Eaton, our Legal Adviser, has advised that the question can be answered by comparing the text of the Conventions with the constitution of the territory in question.
2. I should be grateful therefore if you would let me have this information, possibly in conjunction with your legal advisers.
