LEGISLATIVE POWERS ORDER
1.
Following your information this afternoon that Hong Kong agreed that this Order should be deferred until the next meeting of the Privy Council at the end of July, I requested the Deputy Clerk of the Privy Council to take it out of Tuesday's list.
2. You should enquire whether a Foreign Office Privy Counsellor will be attending Tuesday's Council. If the Secretary of State or Lady Young do attend, you should give them the "Note for the Privy Council" relating to Tuesday's business, cross through the item relating to the Legislative Powers Order, and make note that we requested the Order with- drawn for this meeting. It is unlikely that any question will arise at the Council over the withdrawal.
