Meetings held on 25.2.86 and 30.4.86 between Government representatives and the Association to explain the scheme and the necessity of the clearance.
It was apparent that the major concern of the Association regarded, the level of compensation payable to the commercial operators to be cleared.

Squatter clearance is necessary in order to construct the works and carry out slope, remedial works, and the objection should be overruled.
