ROAD (WORKS, USE AND COMPENSATION) ORDINANCE (CHAPTER 370)
(NOTICE UNDER S. 8(2) ) EASTERN HARBOUR CROSSING
In accordance with the Deed of Mutual Covenant regulating the occupation of flats in Taikoo Shing an annual general meeting of all owners of each tower has to be convened to discuss with the individual owners problems related to the management of that tower in particular and of the whole estate in general. The annual general meeting for the evening of 4th February 86. For your information Pine Mansion is the tower which will be most affect by the construction of the 2nd Cross Harbour Tunnel. In fact the slip roads leading to the tunnel will be constructed as close as 35 40 metres from the tower.
At this annual general meeting the owners present obviously concentrated the discussion on the proposed 2nd Cross Harbour Tunnel which will inevitable affect their environment. After long and detailed discussion the two tower representatives at their head and those present gave mandate to me as their elected District Board Member and their neighbour I am in fact a resident of the same tower to write to you to record their objections to the proposed 2nd Cross Harbour Tunnel.
The objections are:
1.
To oppose the proposed scheme because the slip roads will be constructed too close to the inhabited towers of Taikoo Shing Stage V and VI.
2.

To oppose the taking over of a part of the existing open carpark.
Residents
feel that, if otherwise, they should be entitled to some compensation as this part of the carpark was originally planned as a rest area/garden.
To oppose the scheme on the ground that the present environment would be otherwise ruined.
4.
To oppose the scheme because it does not provide a link road connecting directing Taikoo Shing Estate with the new tunnel.
