ROADS (WORKS, USE AND COMPENSATION) ORDINANCE (CHAPTER 370)
(NOTICE UNDER S. 8(2))
EASTERN HARBOUR CROSSING
The Taikoo Shing Management Liaison Council has been formed to represent the owners of the 10,000 or so flats occupied by some 50,000 residents which presently constitute Taikoo Shing. The owners, in fact, elect their own representatives to form this Council which is, therefore, a very representative body.
The Council, which I chair has requested me to put the following points to you concerning the second Cross-Harbour Tunnel as planned and notified by the Notice which has now been displayed under the heading Eastern Harbour Crossing. These are, two objections, i.e.

(ii)
The proposed footbridge opposite to Pine Mansion should be relocated elsehwere, or if this is not possible be replaced by a subway
Working area if situated near to TKS must be free of concrete mixing plant and batching or other construction back up
Two suggestions are also strongly put forward :

The elevated entry & exit road should be constructed as far away as possible from the residential towers of Taikoo Shing
The link roads near to Pine Mansion should be screened off by landscaping to minimise noise and air pollution
It is important that these items be included in the proposal.
