TDS work, Phase II is being re-examined along with other potential development areas. Moreover, since Members last considered Junk Bay, a further traffic study and a review of the development plans for the new town have been carried out, the results of which will be available shortly. The following summarises the current
position
on
roads-
In
(a)
in the initial stages, that is until 1990/91 when the planned residential population reaches between 70,000 and 80,000, the town will be served by the improved Po Lam Road and the link to Clearwater Bay;
the
(b) present thinking is that Phase I should be
adequately served by the
by the links mentioned at (a) above and one tube of the principal access tunnel to Kwun Tong. Subject to approval of Finance Committee of Legislative Council, work on this project should begin during 1986/87 and be completed in early 1990. Subsequently, traffic will be monitored to determine whether a second tube is required and, if so, when its construction should be recommended; and
(c)
