Re: Objection of the 24-hour Closing of the Road Section (PWP Item No. 285TH)
I am the owner of the West Villa Restaurant which is located at
313-315 Des Voeux Road, Central. We have been running a very Successful business. Unfortunately, since the public work scheme No. 285TH began in August which leads to the closing of the road section described in the work scheme where our restaurant is located, our business has been greatly affected. Especially our dinner time business when most of our clients arrive by private cars. The closing of the road caused trouble to our customers in getting to our restaurant and that means a decline in the business which I must strongly protest.
In view that a total release of the closing might not be possible, I would like to make a suggestion that the closing may be made from say (7 a.m. to 10 a.m. & 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.) each day while the rest of the time be left open. According to my past observation, the traffic at that section of the road after 6 p.m. is not so heavy that a closing must be necessary in order to keep a smooth flow of traffic.
Your consideration of my suggestion is much appreciated and I hope a prompt action can be taken in order to minimize our loss thereof caused by the closing of the road.
