(1) Income figures include resistance based on an elasticity
of demand with respect to fare changes of -0.2 (i.e a 10% increase in fares will produce a 2% drop in patronage).
(2) Operating costs are assumed to be unaffected by the slight
changes in paid km resulting from fare increase.
(3) Fare scale is
$4.00 flagfall for the first 2 km, $0.80 per 0.4 km thereafter for both taxi-types and 50% surcharge on Sundays & public holidays for Lantau taxis only.
