Stewart Road Footbridge
We refer to our objection letter dated 27 September 1985, your reply of 28 October 1985 and the subsequent meeting
(Messrs K Westmoreland/T Farnworth, C H Lee).
With regard to (i) of our letter of 27 September 1985, we are now prepared to withdraw this aspect of our objection on the under- standing that:-
(a) the footbridge will be connected at 1st floor level to the
pedestrian walkway system as well as to ground level, and
(b)
a lay-bye to be provided along the eastern boundary of Causeway Centre. (This has now been discussed and agreed with Transport Department see attached letter.)
With regard to objection (ii) of our letter of 27 September 1985, the Outline Zoning Plan prevailing at the time when IL8389 was sold showed only one footbridge (ie at the south east corner of SHK Centre across Gloucester Road) and when the lot was developed the commercial areas were designed on the basis of the one foot- bridge only. The new footbridge will substantially affect pedestrian traffic flow and as mentioned in our previous letter, an appropriate 0.Z.Plan amendment incorporating the new footbridge has not been made. Nevertheless, our clients are prepared to waive objection (ii) on the condition that directional signage for SHK Centre shops and restaurants is allowed to be erected either on the
