General description of the works
The objective of the works is to improve vehicular traffic conditions along Connaught Road Central between Jackson Road and Pottinger Street and at the Connaught Road/Pedder Street Interchange, and to upgrade pedestrian crossing facilities across Connaught Road Central at Pottinger Street.
The proposed works which are shown on Plan No. HH5189
(the Plan) involve :
(a) construction of an underpass along Connaught Road Central
at its junction with Pedder Street, for dual-two-lane free flow across this junction;
(b) realignment of the eastbound and westbound carriageways of
Connaught Road Central to suit the underpass;
(c) reconstruction of the ground-level road interchange at the
Connaught Road/Pedder Street junction;
(d) improvement to the Connaught Road/Edinburgh Place/Connaught
Place road junction;
(e) extension of the Star Ferry Subway to make room for the works
described in (d) above;
improvement to Connaught Place and its junction with Harbour View Street;
(g) improvement to road junctions of Connaught Road Central between
Jackson Road and Pottinger Street;
(n) construction of a footbridge at the Connaught Road/Pottinger
Street junction, for a grade-separated pedestrian crossing across Connaught Road Central and Pottinger Street; and
(i) realignment, modification and construction of xerolines,
-central dividers and segregation islands on roads and
junctions associated with the above works.
Roads to be closed or modified

For the purpose of and/or incidental to the said works, it will be necessary to carry out the road modifications and closures as shown on the Plan and as listed hereunder
(a) The existing kerblines, central dividers and segregation
islands on Connaught Road Central will require modification.
(b) Modification will be made to the kerblines at the junctions
of Connaught Road with the following roads/streets :
