Classification of Y-Ray Irradiation Apparatus
-ray irradiation apparatus can be divided into different
categories according to their different application, size and
structure.
According to their size, the said apparatus are divided
into three types
large, medium and small.
Small -ray irradiation apparatus, generally with the
source-storage capacity below 100,000 curies, is usually used
for scientific research.
Medium-size irradiation apparatus, generally with the
source-storage capacity in the range of 100,000-500,000 curies
(below 1 million curies in foreign countries), is often of the
nature of intermediate testing or mass production;
