A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO Y-RAY IRRADIATION APPARATUS

The Y-ray irradiation apparatus is a device designed for

utilizing the ray irradiating substance emitted from the

radioactive isotopes cobalt-60 (60 Co) or caesium-137 (137 Cs).

It is a key apparatus employed for realization of the radiation

technical process.

Main Components of -Ray Irradiation Apparatus

The -ray irradiation apparatus consists of the following

systems:

1. Radiation source and operation system

Currently, cobalt-60 (60 Co) and caesium-137 (137 Cs) are

-ray radiation sources that equip irradiation apparatus.

The modes of arrangement and assembling of the radiation

Monoplate, Dual-plate, Cylindrical and Bar Shapes.

Two storing methods for the radiation source in the

irradiation room are employed dry and underwater. And

source:

such actions of the radiation source in the irradiation room

as rising, dropping into the water pool or pause at the

suspended position after rising are realized by means of the

driving mechanism manipulated on the console.
