Nuclear medical science is a science in which the isotopes
and ionic radiation are applied in medical science.
content covers the applications of isotopes (currently mainly
the radioactive isotopes) and ionic radiation in clinical
diagnosis, treatment and medical research.
The development of nuclear medical science has opened up
an entirely new path for the research of clinical medicine,
basic medicine and preventive medicine. In economically
developed countries, one out of two persons is to seek help from
nuclear medicine and more than 25% of the clinical diagnoses
are made by means of nuclear medical methods.
Nuclear medicine, as an independent branch, has by now
become an inseparable important component of the modern medical
science. Along with the development of the nuclear medicine,
several branches of its own have appeared: e:g. nuclear
endocrinology, nuclear hepatology, nuclear cardiology, nuclear
geriatrics, nuclear paediatrics, etc. Furthermore, nuclear
medicine is also of important significance in studying the
normal physiological process and pathological process, in
determining the cause of disease and the basic principles
governing the pharmacological effects, and even in the ex-
