Resolution # 6: The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant
NOTING the massive Hong Kong opposition to the proposed
Daya Bay nuclear power plant and the impossibility of evacua-
ting Hong Kong in the event of an accident at the plant,
Friends of the Earth International URGES the government of
the Peoples' Republic of China, the Hong Kong government,
China Light and Power Co Ltd, Framatome of France and GEC
of Britain to co-operate in MAKING PUBLIC, in English and
Chinese, the following information namely:-
·
all reports and studies relating to the Daya Bay
project which have already been completed.
all proposals on the safety standards to be
incorporated in the design and operation of the
plant and in training of operators.
all plans for the transportation to Daya Bay of
nuclear fuel, and from Daya Bay of nuclear waste.
