Sunday, October 26: The authorities of the Daya Bay plant had
signed an agreement with a state-run insurance company to take out insurance cover for various aspects of the project, the media reported, quoting an NCNA report.
However, the amount of money involved in the insurance cover was not mentioned in the report.
Tin Tin Daily News said it was not known whether HK was included in the insurance policy.

Monday, October 27: A spokesman for the anti-nuclear coalition,
Fung Chi-wood, said yesterday that an independent group would be set up soon to provide more nuclear knowledge to the public, the HK Daily News reported.
Tuesday, October 28: Appointed Legco member Wong Po-yan was chosen as the convenor of the Legco ad hoc group to monitor the Daya Bay project during the group's first meeting yesterday, the media reported.
The group's deputy convenor seat went to Legco member Chung Pui-lam.
Mr Wong told the press after the meating that the group would monitor the nuclear project, collect information on various aspects of the plant.
Radio-3 quoted him as saying that the group would remain in existence until the Daya Bay plant came into operation in 1992.
According to some press reports, Mr Wong guaranteed that his group would handle matters relating to the Daya Bay project fairly although he had indicated earlier that he did not object to the construction of the plant.

In another development, the international conservation group, Green Peace, was pressing the British Government for detailed information on the Daya Bay plant in a bid to have it shelved, Radio-3 reported this morning.
