The Governor of Hong Kong discussed the Daya Bay

project with senior Chinese officials during his visit to

Beijing in September. He confirmed to them that the Hong

Kong Government would stand by the commitments it had

made in respect of the project, and conveyed to them the

concern felt by people in Hong Kong on Daya

Bay.

The

Chinese authorities assured the Government that they were

fully alive to and understood these concerns.
