Today we are hosting a banquet here to celebrate the signing 'Fore of Three Main Contracts and Loan Agreements for the Guangdong Nuclear
Power Station. I should, first of all,
first of all, wish to extend, on behalf
of the Guangdong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Company, Our wormest
welcome and
dis- our heartfelt gratitude to Vice Premier Li Peng,
tinguished guests, responsible members of the Nuclear Steering Group
of the State Council, responsible members of the related departments
of the Chinese Government, the Guangdong Provincial Government,
and the Municipal Government of Shenzhen, and our friends from FRA,
GEC, EdF, the French and the British Banks,
and as also friends
comrades who have worked hard for the Guangdong Nuclear Power
Station.
The Guangdong Nuclear Power Station is a major energy project
for which equipment and engineering services are being imported
from abroad, commencing from 1983, technical, commercial and price
negotiations have been conducted with FRA, GEC and EdF on the Nuclear
Island Equipment, the Nuclear Fuel Assemblies, Conventional Island
Equipment and Project Services. Through friendly cooperation and
joint endeavours of the parties involved, particularly, the support
