As regards question (3A), information relating to the water supply system was not requested in the Phase I report as it was considered that information already in our possession would form an adequate basis for an assessment. We acknowledge, however, that our information may be

incomplete or not up-to-date and, accordingly, request the following data,

which should all be estimated for the year 1990.

(a) The average individual drinking rate (m3/day).

(b) For each storage reservoir:

(1) Its location,

(ii) The area of its catchment area,

(iii) The surface area of the reservoir,

(iv) The average volume of water stored, monthly if possible.

(v) The average draw-off rate, monthly if possible.

(c) The volume of fresh water supplied from the Peoples Republic of

China, monthly if possible. In respect of such supplies, please

give estimated information equivalent to (b) above, as far as is

reasonably practicable.

(d) For each de-salination plant:

(1)

Its location.

(ii) The rate at which fresh water is actually produced, monthly

if possible.

As regards question (3B), it is known from general experience that

immersion in sea-water, occupancy of beaches, etc., will make negligible

contributions to collective dose. However, for purposes of critical group

analysis, please supply us with the nature and locations of the activities

in question, the average length of time each person spends on the activity per day on the days when he takes part, and the average number of days per year on which he takes part in the activity.
