Here I am again, since I last wrote to you on 17/12/1984.
I highly appreciate your having someone to write and thank me on 11/1/1985..
Herewith, I am enclosing a copy of my letter of 26/8/1986 address- ed to the Governor of Hong Kong for your information and reference. I should be most grateful. if you would be kind enough as to hand over the enclosed original letter to Sir Edward Youde in person.
Could mankind be destroyed by various nuclear weapons or those nu- clear tests or a violent explosion from those nuclear projects all over
the world ?.
Anyway, I suppose, it is very important that you find time to study all the hazards of radiation, thoroughly, in order to know the truth, the whole trutn,, nothing but the truth, because the truth will certainly conquer in the end..
After all, no one can really foresee beyond reasonable doubt that the nuclear power in Daya Bay will never be out of control The point is that no one can be certain that all the safety measures will be good enough.
Accordingly, I just wonder if you can persuade the Chinese Govern- ment in mainland China,, in any way, to postpone signing the contract con- cerned until July 1st 1997, to start with, on the grounds that you love and cherish the life of everyone in Hong Kong very much and so you would like to do your upmost to make sure the people in Hong Kong are safe and sound under the care of Her Majesty's Government up to 30 June 1997.
Even though the Chinese Government in mainland China would decided- refuse your request, yet, I do think, the least you should do is just ta ask and then let the Chinese Government in mainland China 'take it or leave
it', for the whole world to know..
Please do something,, no matter what, I implore you.
