Although Hong Kong Link is not a prominent
organisation in UK or Hong Kong terms, I believe that it
would be advantageous if Mr Renton, rather than officials, were to reply to their letter on the Secretary of State's
behalf.
This would
avoid any accusation, however
unwarranted, on the part of the anti-Daya Bay lobby in Hong
Kong that, now that EXCO had visited London and the Daya
Bay contracts had been
been signed, HMG had lost interest in
Hong Kong's concerns over the issue.
