In 1986, we sent 10 staff members to France for further

studies for a period of 6 months to 1 year. In order to groom up staff to assess and monitor the Guangdong nuclear plant, we have made use of UNDP assistance to invite overseas experts to China

and send staff members to other countries to improve their

knowledge. We are now striving to obtain EEC's subsidy for

training purpose, SO as to strengthen our nuclear safety management work. Other than these major items, we also plan to send 56 man-times overseas and invite guest speakers to speak on 16 topics this year.

Summing up the above, we can see clearly that nuclear safety monitoring in China is still
