Training of Nuclear Safety Staff

Summing up the experience of various countries in developing nuclear energy, IAEA clearly points out that staff training is the key element in the development of nuclear energy

(including nuclear safety). Since its establishment, one of

of the basic policies of NNSA is to put emphasis on the training of its

nuclear safety teams. Not only are the cadres in our

Administration systematically trained, but attention is also drawn to the training of staff in the technological and logistic

units, as well as the key personnel in the operation unit of nuclear plants. In China, nuclear safety technology is still a

new field pending development, but at the international level,

countries advanced in nuclear development have accumulated much

experience in this respect. Therefore, it is imperative that the

guiding principle is to introduce foreign technology and expertise, so as to accelerate our development in nuclear safety technology. In 1985, through international cooperation, we made

full use of IAEA subsidies and support, as well as

experts, to launch the following topical seminars on

safety staff training :
