Operational Safety Review Team (OSART)
Visit to Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant : The Chinese officials
assured that the IAEA Operational Safety Review Team would be
invited, after the commissioning of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power
Plant, to inspect the operation of the Plant (please see 5.2.2(6)
above).

Security Measures : We noted that security
arrangements of the Plant would be made at three levels, namely:-
(a) On-site security
using closed-circuit
electric locks and gates, etc.;

Regional security the army is responsible for
coordination work to prevent sabotage of the
Plant. The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant will be

(1) Monitoring Stations The Chinese environmental protection authorities had decided to build a monitoring network
in the surrounding area of the Plant for the purpose of
monitoring the effects of radiation on the sources of water
supply, food chain, atmosphere, land surface and vegetation, etc.
in the vicinity. Also the relevant authorities would discuss
with the Hong Kong Royal Observatory for arrangements for data
link.
