a tank used 43 years ago by german troops in world war ii was found in tunisia and shipped to federal germany, the deutsche presse agentur (dpa) reported today. the tank, identified as a mark iii combat tank, was used by hitler's expeditionary forces in africa. five thousand such tanks were manufactured by 1943, but not even one has been found in federal germany.
the federal german defense ministry managed to get the tank through negotiations with its tunisian counterpart and said it will be placed in the federal military museum. enditem

china and france will joint hands
in the safety appraisal of the daya bay nuclear plant in guangdong province to guarantee its absolute safety, according to the national nuclear safety administration (ansa) here today.
the appraisal includes the general principle of safety design, interior and external events, nuclear fuel assemble, reactor in-core components, reactor cooling system, containment, reactor control and protection system, emergency core cooling system, accident analysis, quality assurance, plant operation as well as waste storage and disposal.
the joint appraisal will be carried out according to a letter of intend signed between the nnsa and the french institute of radiation protection and nuclear safety in may this year.
according to the letter, the appraisal will call for an investment of 30 million franc and one million yuan. the two governments have expressed their willingness to support the program, nnea said
