That this House, noting the grave concern of the general public of Hong Kong at the building of the proposed nuclear power plant at Daya Bay in the Guangdong Pro- vince of China, notes the opposition by a coalition of more than 100 trade unions, pro- fessional groups, community and local organisations and the petition signed by 700,000 citizens in two weeks which supprts the anti-nuclear opposition backed by civic and church leaders, academics and scientists; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make urgent representations to the Chinese Government for the re-siting of this plant from close proximity to the Crown Colony, the most densely populated region on earth.
