IAEA AND HONG KONG

1. My letter of 27 June. Not only do I question the desirability of our copying everything to Hong Kong, I think it unnecessary for us to receive all the telegrams which are now being exchanged with Hong Kong about nuclear safety. However, if the telegrams are to be copied to us, could somebody try to standardise our address, preferably correctly. Of three telegrams that I received this morning Hong Kong telegram number 5 was correctly copied to "UKMis Vienna". FCO telegram number 1277 to Hong Kong was incorrectly copied to "UKDel IAEA Vienna" and FCO telegram number 425 to Paris was even worse and was copied to "UKDel IAEA" and "Vienna". No doubt the telegrams originate with a Department other than NED, but perhaps NED could have a word with that Department.
