I have the honour to inform you that on 28 April 1986 received the following communication from the Permanent Representative of Hong Kong to GATZ:

"I have the honour to refer
the communication from the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom sent 21 January 1982 accepting on behalf of Hong Kong the Protocol Extending the Arrangement Regarding International Trade in Textiles (MFA), done at Geneva on 22 December 1981; the communication delivered to you on 23 April 1986 by the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom declaring that Hong Kong will,ith effect from this latter date, be deemed to be a Contracting Party to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade in accordance with the provisions of
of Article XXVI (5) (c) thereof.
I have been instructed to inform you that Hong Kong will continue to accept the Arrangement Regarding International Trade in Textiles and will continue to participate in the work of the Textiles Committee.
I certified in document L/5986, dated 24 April 1986, that the conditions required by Article XXVI:5(c) had been met and that Hong Kong had become a contracting party with rights and obligations dating from 23 April 1986.
With effect from 23 April 1986, Hong Kong has become a party to the Arrangement Regarding International Trade in Textiles and the Protocol Extending the Arrangement Regarding International Trade in Textiles.
