b) Vietnamese Refugees in Hong Kong
We are at present engaged in a round of intensive lobbying of
potential resettlement countries, including some EC members, in
capitals, through UNHCR, and through their representatives in Hong Kong, to try to persuade them
them to accept more refugees from Hong Kong for settlement. Again depending on progress, we may
wish to raise this in Po Co.
A third subject we may wish to raise is that of visa-free
ccess to EC countries for Hong Kong British Dependent
Territory
Citizens, particularly in the context of the introduction, from
987, of British National (Overseas) status for them.
