The Bank's basic lending criteria
A bank loan must be for a specific project or purpose in a regional developing member country, be technically and economically sound, and of high priority for
the economic development of that country.
2. The Bank takes account of the relative income and stage of development of the borrower and secures an unconditional "guarantee by the government of the
recipient country.
