they invest substantial sums directly in industry in the U.K.

they bring substantial wealth with them; and become large tax payers.

However, I believe that it is necessary to define terms so that encouragement can be given to those who have much to offer. If we are not positive in our attitude they will, on the whole, relocate in U.S.A., taking their abilities and wealth with them.

Is it possible to envisage a situation in which specific financial standards can be established which entitle residence to be taken up in U.K.? Then, is it possible to "market" the U.K. to these people, so that the U.K. economy (through jobs and taxes) may benefit?
