Mr. R. McCarthy,

Division Manager,

Industrial Development Authority,

Lower Mount Street,

Dublin, 2.

Dear Mr. McCathy,

The Minister for Industry and Energy has been informed by the Minister for Justice that permits to reside in the Republic of Ireland will be granted to the Hong Kong resident principals of Hong Kong companies which invest in and develop industrial projects in Ireland approved for grant assistance by the Industrial Development Authority(IDA).

Residence permits will also be granted to key employees of those companies who are required to transfer to Ireland to set up and/or assist in the management of such companies, subject to employment permits being given by the Department of Labour. The Minister understands that employment permits are granted automatically by the Department of Labour, on the recommendation of the IDA.

Provided the normal residence requirements are complied with persons granted residence permits may apply in due course for Irish Passports.

Yours sincerely,

Sean Murray

Sean Murray.
