THE QUEEN ELIZABETH II CONFERENCE CENTRE
The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre offers Government clients the highest standard of secure purpose-built conference and meeting facilities. The Centre will enable Government clients to cater for meetings ranging from very large set piece events attracting world attention to small, low-key, round-table discussions and working group meetings.
Conference Facilities
The conference facilities were designed specifically for major international Ministerial conferences hosted by Her Majesty's Government but they have been adapted so that the Centre can accommodate the private sector as well. Details of the facilities that the Centre can offer are set out in the brochure.
Secure Suite
Although the whole of the Centre will be available for Government use the upper levels, housing the Mountbatten Room, with 11 language simultaneous interpretation, and capable of accommodating 200 people summit style, will be specifically reserved for Government.
This area with 4 offices and lounge on the 6th floor, together with the open plan area and cellular offices on the 5th floor will not be available for private use. This will be a highly secure, self-contained area capable of staging meetings and conferences where the strictest confidence is required. When the need arises and provided enough advance warning is given the entire Centre will be made available for Government use to provide the highest degree of security. This accommodation comprises the open plan Secretariat area on the 4th floor, the main meeting rooms on 3rd and Ground Floors and the Press Centre on 1st and 2nd floors.
It should be borne in mind however that in order to continue to offer a viable conference facility to the private sector it will not be possible to cancel confirmed private sector bookings in favour of Government. On the rare occasion when such an overlap does occur a high standard of back up facilities for Government clients will still exist in both Lancaster House and Church House, Westminster.
