Hong Kong: Mr Callaghan's Vigit
Mr Callaghan telephoned this morning about his visit to Hong Kong next week (he leaves on 9 December, and was due to have lunch with Sir Edward Youde on 11 December).
Mr Callaghan asked about the whereabouts of Lady Youde, and in particular wondered whether there was any way in which he could help in these sad circumstances.
Mr Callaghan will be leaving London at lunchtime today but can be contacted this afternoon or over the weekend at 0273 812 123. It would perhaps be best if, when you have consulted Government House, you or Dr Wilson could have a word with Mr Callaghan about the necessary revision to his plans, and could respond to his enquiry about Lady Youde.
