It was all concerned with the concept of International Rehabilita- Posseu Dixof

tion of the Disabled.

We had lunch with Sir Richard and Lady Evans in Beijing, together with Dr Harry Fang and his wife from Hong Kong.

I am most grateful

for the help and advice we received from Sir Richard and I should say we also received a considerable amount of help and support from the China Section of the Far Eastern Desk in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

At the same time I spent a fair amount of time going round units concerned with rehabilitation in Hong Kong and received a tremendous amount of support from the Hong Kong Government Authorities. The Hong Kong Desk in the FCO was also most helpful and kind.

Perhaps it might be possible for me to have a chat with the appropriate Minister in the not too distant future. I believe that the First International Conference on Rehabilitation ever held in China was a great success and is of tremendous importance in cementing good relationships between China and Hong Kong and indeed other countries throughout the world. It is this matter which I would like to discuss with the Minister.

Please convey my thanks to everyone concerned.

All the very best.

Yours sincerely,

LEWIS CARTER-JONES Member for Eccles
