We would note, moreover, the difficulties in arranging for the Committee to visit a U.S. facility such as Subic Bay, as this would require obtaining prior clearance from the host nation at a potentially delicate moment.
Finally, we hope the Committee will understand that, since we are bound by stringent budgetary requirements, we are unable to offer the Committee transportation assistance in the Pacific.
