The Chinese side were advised that, following on from discussions in February 1985, Force Standing Operations Procedures had been amended to incorporate agreed arrangements on notification of hijacking incidents. The arrangements provide for such information to be passed from NCB to NCB as well as from Kaitak Airport Control Tower to Beijing Airport Control Tower.

The Chinese side welcomed this arrangement
and stated that, while no problems had arisen during recent months both sides should be ready to implement alerting procedures.
